With Bumblebee’s Blu-ray release on April 2, we couldn’t resist an April Fool’s opportunity. We worked with Paradise Creative on an 80s style trailer to match the film’s 1987 setting, and blasted it to press that morning. Entertainment press and Transformers fan sites were scrambling to find VCRs when they received packages containing the actual movie on VHS plus a throwback press kit.
Earned coverage that day totaled 53MM MUVs with live coverage from 79 press/journalists with a combined 12MM social followers. It was the highest reaching and most engaged post on Facebook for the home media window, and received a shoutout from director Travis Knight in his ComicBook.com interview.
